The Muscogee County Juvenile Court will use grant funds to implement a post-adjudication drug court program for nonviolent juveniles charged with drug or drug-related offenses. The Muscogee Juvenile Drug Court will serve 200-250 juveniles, age 13 to16, and their families during the grant period. The principal goals of the program are to reduce substance abuse by drug court participants, eliminate involvement in the juvenile justice system, improve school performance, and improve family relationships. Program services will include substance abuse treatment, support groups, family therapy, and inpatient services coordinated with case management and judicial supervision to break the cycle of substance abuse.
