The National Bar Association (NBA) Juvenile Justice Partnership and Mentoring Initiative is designed to significantly increase the participation of the NBA, including its affiliate chapters, in activities that support and foster awareness of issues that are important to the United States Department of Justice Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention; and help address the important need to reduce crime and delinquency among African American and minority youth in America. The program will include structured opportunities to mentor youth between the ages of 14 and 17. From role models to professional advice, lawyers and judges have an important role to play. Through this project the NBA endeavors to engage itself more fully in the fight to decrease delinquency among minority youth.
