Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2011, $25,000)

OJJDP was established to provide grants, cooperative agreements and other assistance to organizations designated by OJJDP, as authorized by the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 2002 (42 U.S.C. Sections 5775.) and statutes appropriating funds for juvenile justice programs. To the extent that grants will be awarded under other statutory authorities, additional requirements may attach that are not outlined in this solicitation. The purpose of this announcement is to provide support to organizations with missions that are similar to those of OJJDP for conferences that address delinquency prevention, child protection, and juvenile justice system improvement issues.

The National Children's Advocacy Center will utilize this funding to support its 28th Annual Symposium on Child Abuse. This is a nationally recognized conference for law enforcement, prosecution, social workers, child advocates, therapist and medical professionals who work directly with child victims. Delivering OJJDP training and programs in this setting is a cost effective means of promoting best practices and effective collaboration among partnering agencies who support this event. NCA/NCF
