Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2020, $1,000,000)

The Delaware Criminal Justice Council proposes to fund the city of Wilmington, Office of the Mayor, to oversee the planning and implementation of the Wilmington Youth Leadership Incubator Program. During the 5-year project period, youth in Wilmington will receive training on antiviolence prevention, conflict resolution, life skills, leadership, and vocational training. The city of Wilmington will establish a Teen Leadership Board to represent the various districts of the City.  This will be composed of 20 teens. Additionally, they and another 30 who are not on the board, will participate in the violence prevention curriculum.  The program will serve youth  who reside in the city of Wilmington. The Delaware Criminal Justice Council will be responsible for the administration and reporting activities under the project.
