Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2021, $750,000)

The Dakota County Juvenile Drug Treatment Court Enhancement Program proposes to improve access to substance use dependency and mental health/trauma informed treatment for youth/families who identify as Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC).  This effort will be guided by a project Advisory Committee made up of members of the Drug Treatment Court Team, the school, the treatment provider, and family representatives.  In addition, the program will improve support and engagement of families of youth who are contemplating or somewhere in their recovery journey by creating and supporting a local Family Peer Support Network.
