Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2021, $1,542,174)

The State of Nevada Division of Child & Family Services’ (DCFS) project, “Promoting and Enhancing Delinquency Prevention,” will sub grant funds to address an array of unfunded or underfunded needs statewide, primarily the lack of mental health services in six (6) of the identified counties and poor police/citizen relations in Clark county.  The goals of the project are: 1) a reduction in recidivism; 2) a reduction in juvenile justice involvement; and, 3) the prevention of deeper involvement. Clark County will primarily focus on at-risk populations while the remaining counties will focus on youth referred to local juvenile probation departments who are appropriate for diversion, or who are placed on formal probation.
