Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2022, $741,960)

The Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections will use funding to implement positive family engagement strategies and activities that address the needs of incarcerated parents with minor children. This project – called THRIVE (Louisiana Therapeutic, Restorative, and Inspired Visitation Enhancement) seeks to plan, build, and design family-friendly visitation spaces that are conducive and serve children, along with updated safety protocols and procedures for children who are visiting their incarcerated parents while embracing restorative principles for Louisiana women with minor children, led by a partnership with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette who will conduct data management and provide project planning support.
