Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2022, $760,454)

The Ninth Chancery Court of Mississippi proposes to implement a Family Treatment Court in Sunflower County and Humphreys County, Mississippi through a partnership with the Sunflower County Board of Supervisors and the Humphreys County Board of Supervisors. The court will encourage drug free living through intense supervision, accountability, family involvement, peer support, mentorship, educational navigation; and effective treatment to reduce abuse, promote recovery, and improve the quality of life for Adult participants, their families, and the community. The Family Treatment Court will be designed to provide services to parents who require treatment for a substance use disorder and who are involved with the child welfare system as a result of child abuse, neglect, or other parenting issues.
