Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2022, $860,454)

Sacramento County Family Treatment Courts (SCFTC) identified that statistically significant differences exists across all child permanency indicators based on child race
with African American (AA) children having the poorest outcomes.  As a result, Sacramento County is requesting to fund the Embracing Equality Early Intervention Family Treatment Court (EIFTC) project.  The purpose and activities of this project is to enhance services provided to AA children and parents through: (1) The utilization of the Cultural Broker Program for families where alcohol and/or drugs contributed to a substantiated allegation of child abuse and/or neglect; (2) Effectively link AA/B families to Child Welfare voluntary service, Informal Supervision and EIFTC; and (3) Linkage to Community Incubator Leaders (CIL) within the families’ communities.
