Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2022, $525,000)

The proposed Douglas County Strategic Interventions Needed for Girls initiative (DC-SING) will (1) expand Project Harmony’s Anti-Trafficking Youth Services (ATYS) program through the addition of a treatment team; (2) administer evidence-based assessments to identify the risks and needs of system-involved MAR/T girls at their first point of law enforcement contact; (3) use licensed mental health professionals to provide trauma-informed care to MAR/T girls and their families; (4) assign a Positive Youth Development Ally to program participants to connect MAR/T girls to community-based intervention programs based on their specific risks and needs; and (5) provide training opportunities to the ATYS treatment team to highlight the latest research related to best practices and to encourage continued professional growth and development.
