Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2022, $27,282)

The Wisconsin Department of Justice (WI DOJ), as the State Administering Agency for the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention grants, will be the grantee of PREA funds. WI DOJ will subgrant these funds totaling $27,282.00 to Wisconsin Department of Corrections (WI DOC), the designated state PREA contact agency. The project will be managed by the PREA Director of WI DOC, who is responsible for agency PREA compliance.
 
With awarded funding, WI DOC will strategically purchase and install video monitoring technology at Lincoln Hills/Copper Lake Schools and The Grow Academy based upon auditor feedback to remedy blind spots, supplement direct supervision, mitigate opportunities for sexual abuse, and improve safety. The agency will also purchase educational materials, including posters, first responder cards, and education acknowledgement signature pads.

Each of these activities will ensure Wisconsin's consinued progress in PREA implementation and operalization of the standards.
