The Metropolitan Police Department of Wahington, D.C. proposes to implement OJJDP's Gang Model following an assessment of the nature and scope of the D.C. area's most significant youth gang problems. Following the assessment, the key agencies and their collaborating partners will use the assessment findings to apply and implement an enhanced community approach to reducing youth gang crime consistent with OJJDP's model. The City's effort will be supported by intensive training and technical assistance OJJDP's National Youth Gang Center. The grantee's progress will be monitored through a self-evaluation and semi-annual progress reports submitted to OJJDP.
