4-H Expansion Program

Chaves, Luna, Mora, San Miguel, and Socorro counties will be funded through this effort. Eahc county's office will be responsible for managing the day-to-day program operation and will develop customized programming based on community needs, infrastructure, and partnership capacity building. The 4-H Youth Development Program model will serve as the structure for these programs. Four-H programs are designed to stimulate interest in hobbies and develop self esteem, leadership capacity, and positive citizenship. Parental and adult volunteers training will also be included in this program. Training will be provided to assist adults serving as mentors and in leadership roles to youth. In addition, county staff, community partners, and local advisory committees will be involved in this effort.
