Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2003, $198,700)

The Boysville Mental Health Program's purpose is to provide wellness therapy, alternative education, mental health treatment services, including updated psychiatric and health assessments to boys and girls ages 13 to 18. The Program shall also track, evaluate, and report the outcomes associated with services. Boys and girls of the Program are referred to Boysville by state and local jurisdictions for delinquency offenses. Program activities shall include weekly wellness therapy for 100 youth annually; alternative education skill including math, writing, and language for youth in the Boysville program during summer months; mental health management services for 100 youth annually including nutrition skills, management of chronic healthcare issues, prescription drug maintenance, psychotropic medication monitoring, and dental assessments; psychiatric assessment updates for 100 youth annually; and health assessment updates for 100 youth annually.
