Father Flanagan's Girls and Boys Town (GBT ) will provide treatment services for female juvenile offenders in a short-term residential program in four sites, GBT of Georgia, New Jersey, Louisiana, and Philadelphia. The purpose of the program is to provide a safe short-term placement for female juvenile offenders who do not require placement in a secure detention facility and cannot return home, but can benefit from short-term treatment in a structured, gender responsive placement. The program offers individual treatment plans that focus on short- and long-term goals, including teaching of life skills, promoting behavior change in target areas identified as problematic, and training in a curriculum that includes social, academic, character education, and living skills. The program aims to equip young female offenders with the skills and tools to prevent re-offending. GBT will report on these performance measures 1) increased awareness of offending behavior 2) Improved grade levels 3) less suicide ideation. NIJ is conducting a longitudinal study that will report reduced arrests.NCA/NCF
