Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2005, $246,661)
The goals of this program is to provide foster care, boarding homes, and residential care to serve approximately sixty children. Ohel Children's Home and Family Services Child Abuse Prevention Program provides intensive treatment crisis intervention prevention services, and community education to children and adolescents. These children may have one or more special needs which may include psychiatric disorders, mood disorders, impulse control disorders, depression, behavioral disorders, hyperactivity disorder and at-risk behaviors medical conditions and developmental delays.
The objective of Ohel's school-based services is to enhance the social and emotional functioning of Jewish children and adolescents and to prevent and treat at risk behavior. Ohel will focus on reducing the proportion of school-aged children who engage in at risk behavior and those who are victimized. The goal of Ohel will be to provide preventative measures to help address these issues to youth in schools, parents and administrators.
