Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2006, $98,723)
The Richmond Midnight Basketball League (RMBL) works to meet the recreational and societal needs of underserved youth and young adults. IT offers youth (ages 11-17) a safe place to play basketball, exposure to positive values, and additional help for those who need it. RMBL seeks to change knowledge, behavior, and attitudes. Because basketball is the single most desirable sport for inner-city youth and young adults, we can reach significant numbers of the at-risk population. By combining league play and mandatory workshops, we are able to expose at-risk youth to vital information that helps them make good decisions and choices.NCA/NCF
