The Brooks County Sheriff's Office After-School Program for At-Risk Children will provide programs that include tutoring, mentoring, anti-gang education, substance abuse prevention, self esteem improvement, and parent involvement. The project will expand over a three year period with programs coordinated and conducted by volunteers who are retired educators, law enforcement and community leaders. The outcome of the program will be measured in several ways. The factors will include the number of youth referred by community agencies and organizations, the attendance of participants, and the number who complete the programs they attend.
