Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2009, $1,700,000)

Using OJJDP funds, Search Group Incorporated (SEARCH) will provide training and technical assistance to the National Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Program. This project will offer training through distance, online courses, as well as traditional classroom presentations. SEARCH will also develop and deliver regional Training-for-Trainers courses to develop ICAC members as instructors in areas of high-tech crime investigation as deemed necessary by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) and the ICAC program.

The stated purposes of the Recovery Act are: to preserve and create jobs and promote economic recovery; to assist those most impacted by the recession; to provide investments needed to increase economic efficiency by spurring technological advances in science and health; to invest in transportation, environmental protection, and other infrastructure that will provide long-term economic benefits; and to stabilize State and local government budgets, in order to minimize and avoid reductions in essential services and counterproductive State and local tax increases. SEARCH will create/retain five (5) jobs under this project.
