Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2011, $50,000)

The Title V Community Prevention Grants Program intends to reduce risks and enhance protective factors to prevent at-risk youth from entering the juvenile justice systems and to intervene with first-time and non-serious offenders to keep them out of the juvenile justice system.

Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) will utilize FY 2011 Title V funding to provide funding to approximately 1-3 Communities That Care (CTC) sites and/or other units of local government who apply for evidence-based programs which will be matched by the grantee. The ultimate goal of the CTC initiative is the reduction of adolescent problem behaviors such as violence, drug and alcohol use, teenage pregnancy, school drop-out, delinquency and the promotion of positive youth development. Funding will be targeted to ensure fidelity to the model of implementation as set forth by the program developers of both CTC and the evidence-based programs. NCA/NCF
