This project will provide training and technical assistance support to enhance the AMBER Alert network and will serve to increase and improve the law enforcement response to missing, endangered, and abducted children; increase the recovery rate of abducted children; strengthen child alert systems in the nation's northern and southern borders to better protect children; increase community understanding of issues related to child abuse and exploitation; enhance public participation in recovery efforts; and build the capacity and skills of law enforcement and child protection professionals to identify, interdict, and recover victims of trafficking, both domestic and across the national borders. Specific activities include but are not limited to delivery of 25 training programs, 2 additional distance learning deliveries, and 90 technical assistance events. Outcomes of these training programs will improve the capacity, capabilities, skills, and response to incidents of missing, endangered, and abducted children and will be measured through online systems and pre-, post-program, and impact evaluation instruments.
