Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2017, $384,286)

OJJDP's FY 2017 Juvenile Drug Treatment Court (JDTC) Program will support existing JDTCs in implementing system changes, service delivery, and programming practices that are in alignment with the JDTC Guidelines released in December of 2016. The Clark County Juvenile Drug Court’s (STEP) court program seeks to enhance the screening, referral, and service delivery process to enable more juvenile offenders to access the services they require to reduce substance use and delinquent behavior. Under the guidance of the JDTC Guidelines, the STEP court program intends to increase identification of and access to services for youth in need of treatment by enhancing the screening and evaluation process and implementing evidence-based treatment. The STEP court program’s long-term objectives are to (1) reduce juvenile substance use and recidivism by 75 percent and (2) increase access to treatment for a minimum of 150 eligible youth. CA/NCF
