The Drug Treatment Courts Program builds the capacity of states, state and local courts, units of local government, and federally recognized tribal governments to enhance pre-existing drug courts or implement new drug courts for individuals with substance abuse problems or co-occurring mental health disorders. Category 1: Juvenile Drug Treatment Courts (JDTCs) will support existing JDTCs to develop and implement strategies to enhance their programs based on the OJJDP JDTC Guidelines.

The purpose of this project is to enhance and improve policies, procedures, and evidence-based treatment to Wayne County’s Supervised Treatment for Alcohol and Narcotic Dependency (STAND) Drug Court Program by aligning with the OJJDP JDTC Guidelines. The goals of this project are (1) increase school representation; (2) increase substance abuse treatment services to include opioid prevention awareness groups; (3) increase aftercare services to provide relapse prevention, ongoing care, and mentoring resources as related to the OJJDP JDTC Guidelines; (4) enhance the JDTC team to assign prosecutors to the STAND Program; and (5) increase the JDTC team’s knowledge and effective adherence to the OJJDP JDTC Guidelines through training and technical assistance.
