This program will fund training and technical assistance (TTA) to states, state and local courts, units of local government, and tribal governments that will build their capacity to develop, maintain, and enhance drug courts for juveniles and parents/guardians with substance abuse problems or co-occurring mental health disorders, specifically those related to opioid abuse. Category 2: Family Drug Courts Training and Technical Assistance (FDC TTA) will help family drug court practitioners develop, maintain, and enhance family drug courts.

The Center for Children and Family Futures, Inc. will implement a comprehensive FDC TTA program for the purpose of providing needs-based TTA to (1) increase family-centered collaborative and evidence-based practices to prevent and reduce child victimization; (2) build and strengthen the capacity of TTA recipients to plan, develop, maintain, and enhance FDC programs; (3) improve practices and policies to more effectively respond to the impact of opioid and other substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders; (4) implement consistent, efficient, and effective case planning, monitoring, and supervision procedures to effectively identify and assess potential FDC participants, including veteran status; and (5) build capacity to use performance measures data to identify and assess successes, gaps, and trends in case processing and service delivery.
