Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2020, $500,000)

This program furthers the Department's mission by providing grants and cooperative agreements for training and technical assistance to organizations that OJJDP designates. The Alaska Children’s Alliance (ACA) is a 501(c)(3) membership organization dedicated to improving the statewide response to child maltreatment through training and technical assistance (TTA) to children's advocacy centers (CACs). This project will expand training, technical support, and resource development for Alaska’s CACs. ACA has identified four primary goals: 1)expand TTA to existing CACs, with a focus on national accreditation and best practices; 2)increase access to services for Alaskans in underserved areas by supporting the development of new CACs, including Satellite CACs; 3) create technologically-driven resources to address Alaska’s unique challenges and build networks of support for CACs; and 4)support culturally appropriate strategies to promote resilience for the CAC/MDT workforce
