This is an introduction to the Girl Scout program for teen girls residing in detention centers.
Abstract
The Girl Scout program is presented under the themes of "Discover," "Connect," and "Take Action." Under "Discover," Girl Scouts learn about themselves, what they care about, and what their talents are. Under "Connect," girl scouts collaborate with other people, locally and internationally, to make a positive difference in the world. Under "Take Action," Girl Scouts continually take actions to make the world a better place. In this process, Girl Scouts "earn badges, sell cookies, go on exciting trips, explore the outdoors, and participate in projects that have a positive impact on others.
