The January 2024 issue of OJJDP News @ a Glance covers a number of topics, beginning with an announcement that the publication is going monthly. OJJDP Administrator Liz Ryan discusses what's in store for OJJDP News @ a Glance subscribers in 2024 and the Office's yearlong observation marking the 50th anniversary of the law that established OJJDP, the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act. Other topics include coverage of the Coordinating Council on Strategies To Advance Youth Justice Reforms and the National Mentoring Summit Features Workshops by Numerous OJJDP Grantees; a data snapshot on bullying trends among high schoolers; and news of a drop in the number of youth in adult jails decreased an average of 10 percent annually over 10 years. The issue also includes a feature on Camp Mariposa, which helps children affected by substance use; a report on the AMBER Alert Training and Technical Assistance Program launched in Indian Country initiative to help Tribal communities implement AMBER Alert plans and coordinate with existing state plans; information about Connecticut and Nebraska’s Return to the Title II Formula Grants Program after a 5-year hiatus; and an announcement of the 2024 Coordinated Tribal Assistance Solicitation, which allows Tribes to submit a single funding application for seven Tribal-specific grant programs.
